# Magdir Part Assistant: Chrome Datasheet Search

Magdir Part Assistant is a free Chrome extension for engineers and component buyers. Search a selected or typed part number on Magdir, then explore available specifications and manufacturer PDF datasheets, especially for inductors and magnetic components.

## How to search a part number

1. Select a part number on a normal web page. Right-click and choose Search Magdir.

2. Alternatively, open the extension from the toolbar and type a part number, such as 74478605.

3. A new tab opens the Magdir datasheet search. Choose a matching result to view its available parameters and PDF.

## What is included

- Selection search and toolbar popup search.

- English, German, Korean, Japanese, Vietnamese and Chinese interfaces; language preference stays on this browser.

- Free to use, no sign-in required, and no extension search history.

## What to expect

Results depend on the current catalog. The extension does not verify part suitability or guarantee a PDF for every model. Use manufacturer documentation for design decisions. Searches accept up to 200 characters; overly long selections are ignored. Built-in PDF viewers and restricted pages may not show the menu: copy the part number into the popup. Version 0.1.0 has no sidebar preview, comparison or bookmark sync.

## Does it require an account?

No. Public part search is available without signing in.

## Does the extension read every website?

No. It receives the text you explicitly choose to search through the context menu, or text you type in the popup.

## Can I search inside PDFs?

Some PDF viewers do not expose third-party context menus. Copy the model number into the popup.

## Is every datasheet guaranteed to be available?

No. Results and PDFs depend on the current catalog; check the original manufacturer documentation.
