Only when you click search or the context-menu action, your typed or selected text is passed to https://magdir.com as a URL query parameter. The extension does not send the source page URL or full page content. Avoid submitting confidential text.
The extension stores only your language preference in chrome.storage.local. It does not save search history, read browsing history, continuously scan pages, inject content scripts, or include advertising or analytics SDKs.
Permissions: contextMenus creates the selection-search menu; storage saves the local language preference. No host, tabs or activeTab permission is requested. All extension code is bundled locally.
The resulting website visit is subject to the Magdir website privacy policy. Normal website logs, cookies and analytics may apply, and the browser may retain the search URL in its history. These are distinct from extension-local storage.
Uninstalling removes the extension’s local preference. Browser history and website data must be cleared separately using the browser controls. Contact support for questions about website-side data.
